This Week:
Ride Date: Thursday, September 24
Time: 5:30 pm
Place: Quest University by the Gymnasium. Please bring a car or arrange a ride as we will be driving up to the turnoff from Garibaldi Park Road. If you would like to ride up, please meet us at the turn off at 5:45.
Ride Length: 1.5 hrs
Difficulty: Advanced Intermediate, be prepared to pedal uphill for at least 30 minutes for Pseudo Tsuga. The trail itself is generally downhill, so good braking technique is important.
We will drive up and park at the Ring Creek North FSR turnoff just past Darwin’s bridge turnoff.
From there, we will ride 20-30 minutes up Ring Creek North FSR to the Pseudo Tsuga trail head. Pseudo Tsuga is a Blue (intermediate) down-hill trail. It winds back and forth across the hillside through a selectively cut forest. The most challenging parts of this trail are a few technical corners with steep roll-downs, and some steeper sections that tend to have loose gravel. These sections are interspersed with more gentle single track so you have lots of time to “reset” between challenges.
If you enjoy riding Roller Coaster, you will probably enjoy this trail.
If you walk large sections of Roller Coaster, or have difficulty riding uphill, this may not be the ride for you.
See you on the trails!
Jen
