Jack’s Trail – Mountain Biking at its gentle best!!!
Jack’s Trail, our mountain biking destination on May 20th. This is an easy blue, single track trail, that starts at the top of Perth Drive in Garibaldi Highlands above Squamish and ends up at Alice Lake Provincial Park. It is a beautiful, gently sloped trail, that is fun to ride in both directions with a challenge or two for the novice rider.
We will meet at Tantalus Bike Shop at 5:30pm and drive to the top of Perth to start the ride. For those who want to meet at the top of Perth, there is a map at the bottom of this post.
Last week!!
There were seven of us riding the dump trails! It was a fun group and we had many laughs.
For those of us who are not so expert, there was instruction on the pedal push lift and the front wheel lift. As we started from the bottom of Ray Peter’s Trail, highway side, we had numerous opportunities to practise the pedal push lift on our way to the top. Then we climbed a twisty single track trail up the power line. A great opportunity to practise cornering going uphill. It was a nice little trail but some of the bushes on the side were a bit wild and attacked some of the riders.
Then we went back into the trees and up to the top of the trail we started on and were able to RIDE DOWN.
