Dirt Divas – Women’s Mountain biking in Squamish

April 20th, 2008 · No Comments · Women's Rides

Spring has finally arrived and so have our weekly women’s mountain biking rides!

This is an opportunity for women to learn, or refresh, mountain biking skills, explore new mountain biking trails around Squamish, and challenge themselves with other women who enjoy mountain biking.

ALL FOR FREE!!!!

The rides are led by Jen Bass, a certified mountain biking instructor and downhill race winner.  She stops the ride before obstacles that she feels some people in the group may need help with and gives instructions on the skill needed to overcome that obstacle.  So each ride has a teaching component to it enabling us to improve our mountain biking skills.

5:30pm, every Tuesday in April, we will meet at Tantalus Bike shop. The ride will last 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the trail, the skill level and speed of the participants, and daylight.

April 22 the biking trail will be Wunderland, an easy intermediate single track trail that starts partway up the road to Alice Lake and ends at Dryden Creek Campground.  It has roots, rocks, bridges and some logs.  Fun mountain biking with some spectacular land formations. It can have some squishy spots so be prepared to become a dirty diva.
